Try to get a companion with the highest Scout skill that you can increase more when at your party. For example: If the companion has 140 already max out (red colour), try to get the lower Scout companion that has not been max out (orange colour). So you can level up more the Scout skill. Scout max skill is at 275 (at tier 5 at least to be useful).

Agreed. When there is battle size limit, each side should start with a percentage. Like if you have 1000 troops and they have 3000 troops, you should start with 100 while they start with 300. This way it still feels like they have a larger army. I remember playing Thermopylae Map and I put 300 vs 5000 with a battle size limit of 2000.

If you're really struggling, you can set the Resolution Scale slider to 95%, which effectively runs the game at 1824x1026 instead of 1920x1080. It's a very console-esque trick to use on PC
