May 15, 2023. #2. I follow the "ford eco boost nightmare" group on Facebook. It's a truly shocking situation with ecoboost or "ecoboom" engines failing without warning or provocation for a variety of issues including wet belt problems despite them being maintained to the letter. The posts about failures are often multiple times per day.

Not sure Ford have stopped using wet belts. just bought a 2022 eco sport 140ps and service info through ETIS says Belt replacement at 10yrs 150k miles. Also oil pump drive may be welt belt. someone on here said cat between rad and engine - wet belt, cat between engine and bulkhead - chain. 1.0 eco boost.
