I gained the Honourable trait partway through my current game. Not sure exactly how I got it, but I definitely didn't start with it. The only quests I've really done are "Deliver herd" and "Find my daughter" as they're the only ones I'm 100% convinced aren't broken Lol - always delivered the full herd, and all but one or two daughters returned through convincing.
The slash appears when the skill has more than one effect. The effects description should make it clear which part is to the character and which is for others: "Personal" applies to the character itself. The skill up depends on how much actual profit you're making, I think, but also after 150 points it's going to slow down a ton unless you have full focus points and like 9 or 10 Charm.
